I’m on a mission to create accessible pathways into Product Management careers

As a professor, entrepreneur, and speaker, I create accessible learning experiences that help early-career professionals and teams think more strategically, through the lens of Product Management.

  • Looking to bring Product Management or strategic thinking into your organization? I offer contract instruction and custom curriculum design for enterprise teams, academic programs, and learning experiences that blend clarity with real-world relevance.

  • Running a service-based business doesn’t have to mean doing everything alone. I work with founders (especially coaches and consultants) to strengthen operations, clarify offers, and build marketing systems that support long-term growth and reduce burnout.

  • From classrooms to conferences, I speak on Product Management, entrepreneurship, inclusive career design, and business growth. Whether you need a guest speaker, panelist, or moderator, I’ll bring data, research, experience through storytelling and personal engagement.

  • I'm currently developing a research agenda at the intersection of Product Management, inclusive innovation, and career mobility—with a focus on how we can make strategic thinking more accessible to historically excluded communities.

Big believer in the power of knowledge creation and sharing. Gatekeeping is out. Community building is in.

My ethos

Fundamentally, I care deeply about the growth of Product Management as a discipline. It’s a powerful career path that shouldn’t be limited to engineers or the tech elite. Product thinking has helped me build businesses and solve complex problems, and, candidly, I believe more people should be educated in it.

As a professor, I’m passionate about bringing Product into the classroom early, so students don’t have to play catch-up later in their careers.

As an entrepreneur, I use Product principles to help service-based businesses grow with clarity and intention.

As a speaker and advocate, I’m committed to making Product education more inclusive, practical, and accessible for anyone ready to lead with strategy.

WHAT I DO

On campus

As an Assistant Professor of Practice at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, I teach undergraduate students Sales and Product Management with a strong belief that Product Management should be taught in undergraduate programs — full stop.

On Zoom

I help service-based businesses mature from scrappy and stretched to streamlined, scalable, and CEO-ready. Under my maturio brand, I work with founders to move from plateau to all grown up and ready to soar (or sell).

In person

I enjoy leading workshops and panels on Product Management, entrepreneurship, and career advancement with an empathetic, relatable, and professional approach that resonates. My sessions don’t just inform; they spark conversations that continue well after the event ends.

I’VE COACHED 1K+ ASPIRING, NEW AND EXPERIENCED PRODUCT MANAGERS

Here are a few of the enterprise-level organizations that I’ve coached.

I bring close to 15 years of Product Management experience, working across industries and roles — from hands-on execution to strategic leadership.

For the past 8+ years, I’ve specialized in coaching and consulting at every level:

  • Training enterprise organizations to build stronger, more effective Product Management teams

  • Bringing big-business insights and strategies to solopreneurs ready to scale

  • Delivering engaging speaking sessions that inspire and educate audiences on product, career growth, and innovation

WHAT I’VE DONE

Coach

Before transitioning to academia, I built and sold a career coaching company focused on helping aspiring and early-career Product Managers pivot into tech. My coaching approach combined strategy, empathy, and real-world insight, guiding hundreds of professionals into impactful roles at top companies.

Research

As a scholar-practitioner, my (budding) research agenda explores how business education and strategic thinking can be made more inclusive and actionable. I’m currently building a pipeline of work focused on democratizing Product Management and supporting historically excluded professionals in tech and entrepreneurship.

Engage

I spent the first chapter of my career in Sales and Product Management leading product launches, building strategic partnerships, and driving cross-functional initiatives. That real-world experience now fuels my teaching, speaking, and consulting, bridging theory and practice with grounded credibility.

I believe Product Management should be taught in undergrad, not just to mid-career executives.

Product Management Career Coaching

ON AN ASIDE

The SPRINT and SCALE Product Management Coaching Programs have a new home. After five years of building the go-to coaching space for early-career Product people, I’ve transitioned my flagship coaching programs the mega-talented coach, Jess Sherlock.

  • The SPRINT Product Management Program continues to support talented professionals through the Product Management job interview process, from resume to offer.

  • The SCALE Product Management Program coaches newly-hired Product talented through the first 90 days in the role.

Touch base

I’m always looking to connect with potential research collaborators, product leaders seeking thoughtful team training, and entrepreneurs who find themselves saying, “I’ve made it about as far as I can take it solo. How can I push beyond this plateau?

Whether you're building products, businesses, or knowledge, we probably have something to talk about.
